RE: All hotkeys stopped working

It happened again to me, a month or so later. Rebooting the pc does not fix it, my hotkey combo that sets windows the way I liked totaly fails and is super frustrating. I gotta go in and delete the hotkey then re add it and that sometimes fixes it. Can I debug some process, ghidra, and provide info so devs here can look at it right now as it iis bugged, so man7be can fixz it?

This also happens when I manually activate it and set it to portraid mode in windows settings, so it does seem to be a windows issue.

Edit : I contacted windows support and they did the following :
"I have restarted the essential services, removed and reinstalled the drivers, checked for and installed optional driver updates, and reviewed the Advanced System Settings to ensure they are configured correctly in an effort to resolve the issue."

Now when I enable the display via windows settings, the issue does not occur. When I use DF to switch display profiles, it does still occur.

As per the same windows support staff member : "The third-party application may be applying an outdated or incompatible display profile, especially after recent Windows or graphics driver changes."

For now, I can activate the offending display in windows settings and then switch display profile in DF. Which is an improvement, but I'm hoping it can be fully resolved.

Those trigger paths do look correct, you could even try something like:

*\Discord.exe

Can you give the simpler one a try and see if that makes any difference? Thanks!

When Im starting 1 application on 1 screen, that I see that Icon of that application duplicate to both of taskbar screens.

Wildcards Not Always Working

Hey all.

Been a DisplayFusion user for many years. Due to the continuing plague of applications using Electron, I have a number of things I use that don't remember their window positions between launch and also constantly change the folders they are in based on updates (Teams and Discord among others). I've been using wildcards in my triggers and window position profiles to solve this. Here's examples of the process strings I use for each:

C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Discord\app-*\Discord.exe
C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\MSTeams_*\ms-teams.exe

The problem I'm having is they just don't always seem to work. Sometimes the applications will have their triggers processed when they launch and sometimes they won't. This can be because when I restart my machine, they sometimes launch before DisplayFusion itself does but even manually triggering the window position profile in those cases doesn't always seem to work.

From what I've read in both the documentation and other threads here, I think I'm using the wildcards correctly, also evidenced by the fact that they do seem to work sometimes. I'm a bit baffled so I was wondering if anyone here could sanity check this for me.

We're just looking into this issue and I wanted to get a bit more information. What options do you have selected for the compatibility rules? Wildcards should work fine and I've confirmed that the "Disable app hooks" does work in v12.1.1. What behaviour are you seeing that's unexpected after enabling the compatibility settings? Thanks!

Sorry, I was mistaken and we have already added this into the current public version! If you right-click on the taskbar you want to show seconds on, then click Multi-Monitor Taskbar > System Tray Clock > Show Seconds. I hope this helps!

When I move the cursor over the portraid mode monitor, it shows up in a different spot than the edge, and it moves up and down when I go left-right as if it's in landscape mode. The only solution is to physically disconnect the monitor and reconnect it.

Yeah, I logged on this morning and it detected it as being in 441. But I wasn't. I'm in a different location. So what I would like is for it not to think I'm in 441. I need to keep that 441 profile for when I'm in that room. But it won't let me change to a different profile. And I don't want to rename it.

It looks like DisplayFusion is detecting your new monitor config as the already existing "Mason Office - 441" profile. You could just rename this profile if that works too. You can't have 2 monitor profiles with the same layout with different names unfortunately.

Unable to save a new monitor profile

I am on a trial of DisplayFusion. I really like it so far. But I have hit a roadblock. I have been able to save monitor profiles and have 5 of them for various meeting rooms/desks/focus rooms in my office. Today, I am in a new location and need to create a new profile. However, after I change and get the settings correct, when I click "Save Profile", it thinks I want to overwrite a profile. I do not want to do that. It does not give me a choice to save a new profile. I am likely going to need to have ~10 profiles once I purchase a license.
I found an old discussion on this, but it was from 2018 and didn't see a resolution.
Can someone help with this?

After your settings restore do you see your old rules in the Triggers tab? Or are you using the Window Location Profiles?

Cannot Restore Settings

Hi, I did a fresh windows install and updated quite a few versions up for DisplayFusion. My shortcuts to move windows around no longer work when restoring from the backup.

'Cheat engine' 7,5 still having double interface in the task bar

Hi, so the cheat engine (i'm using the 7,5) still have the double task bar showing in my second monitor. But dont have that problem on the main monitor.

That is a strange issue indeed! We have modified DisplayFusion to broadcast SPI_SETWORKAREA after it reserves its workarea. Let's see if this helps the issue. Keep an eye out for Beta 1, due out hopefully next week.
