so if i upload the required numer of images i automatically win the free display fusion key? that is not just the entry into a random competition?
If I submit 30 photos, could I get two licenses? Or could I upgrade (for free or a small fee) to the unlimited home version? I have a lot of computers. I also take decent photos if that helps.
@SME: Correct, you get the license if the images are accepted. There's no contest/competition here.
@Joe: Absolutely! We have a 2 license maximum on the competition, and if their you're own photos (and they're accepted on the site) then it's no problem.
Very bad way of doing this.
Better to do something like refer 15 friends and you'll get a free license. Those friends must install DisplayFusion and cannot be from the same IP address as yours.
Not everyone has the skills to make images and upload them.
Not everyone has a good enough camera to take decent images and upload them.
@Arran: Unfortunately no matter what type of promotion we run there will always be some people that can't participate. We're excited about our new wallpaper site, and we're just trying to attract some new submissions.
I have great pictures, but I don't know if they will stretch for three monitors.
Will uploads of single monitor wallpapers be considered towards the license key?
@Dorothy: It depends on the aspect ratio and the quality of the pictures as to whether they will be accepted.
@Chris: Single-monitor images will count towards the total, but they have to be quite good in that case.
Will uploads of single monitor wallpapers be considered towards the license key?
What size should the images be for the different monitor combinations?
I see that you get a certain amount of "points" for each submission. Does this mean that we can submit 30 single monitor images to meet the point requirement or are those totally arbitrary and separate points?
Who determines what configurations an image is appropriate for? I submitted an image that is 7700x4400 and it was listed as single monitor. Even at a size of 2500x1600, that will still span three monitors.
@Matthew: The monitor count is calculated automatically based on the aspect ratio of the image. I'll take a look at your submission and adjust it.
Just a point of note: many quad monitor arrangements are 2 x 2 instead of 4 x 1. I have just submitted a picture that would be perfect on a 2 x 2 arrangement but would royally suck on a 4 x 1. I am requesting that my image be evaluated as a 4 monitor image.
@Ron: Our system doesn't currently support multi-monitor arrangements for square or vertical setups. We're hard at work on it though, and I'll make a note on your image that it wasn't designed for horizontal spanning. Thanks!
@Jon: Fair enough. Thanks for the reply. I'll just wait patiently for my current batch of pictures to (hopefully) be approved.
Oh - and thank you for having this wonderful "contest"!
I just wanted to let everyone know that we're processing the image submissions as fast as we can, but we're getting hundreds of new images per day. Don't worry, we'll get through them soon!
gosto da aplicacao
What a great idea for a contest! Thank you for the licence. DisplayFusion is a wonderful piece of software
5760x1080 submissions submitted. I like display fusion!
I'm going to continue to submit wallpapers.. just wondering how I receive my key and when?
@Andrew: We are receiving 100's of submissions per day, and we're doing our best to work through them. Don't worry, you'll be receiving your license soon!
@Jon: No worries man. You busy.. just wanted to make sure I was still valid Thanks and keep up the awesome work.
How long does it take to get a license after having enough images accepted? (I believe I've met the requirements with 13 wallpapers of which 3 are triple screen, 2 are quad screen, and the rest are dual screen.)
So are you looking for Quad side by side of Quad in a Square backgrounds? I run a quad setup in a 2x2 square with a full resolution of 3840x2160. Is this a resolution you're looking for?
For how long the license is free ?
Do you accept images with watermarks? Because I've watermarked all my images for copy protection.
@Zachary: We're working as much as we can to approve all of the images. We worked all weekend to try to keep caught-up.
@John: This isn't a typical resolution, but we're definitely looking for images that fit this.
@ahbennani: The free license would be a lifetime license, like every DisplayFusion license.
@Ali: As long as you've granted us permission to use and host the images, your watermark is fine!
Got my license! Thanks a lot guys Hope you like my photos..
@Archie McEwen: How long did it take for you to receive your license?
@Andrew Callander: Probably about 2 hours after my last photo got uploaded, so pretty quick.
@Archie McEwen: Did you get it email? I've been waiting for mine for a day or so. Wish I was lucky like you
Hi, 2 of my pics were rejected because of low quality. What´s this? The resolution was 5040 x 1050 px.
Should I submit the original picture with resolution 5184 x 3456?
@Andrew Callander: yep, got an email saying thanks for registering.. if you have had enough pics accepted, you should get a license!
@Archie McEwen: I registered using my fb.. wonder if it screwed anything up. Yes, I've uploaded more than the maximum and continue to upload for the license.
It's just upsetting that I still haven't received mine yet. I enjoy this site not only for the free key but also the great wallpapers.
@Joe: Some of the pictures were grainy or not perfectly in-focus. We're trying to collect only the best-of-the-best images, it's nothing personal. I just approved a few more of your images, a license is on it's way!
@Andrew: You're license is on it's way too, sorry for the delay!
@Andrew: Correction, we had already sent you a license 3 days ago to your contact@tr....com email address. If you'd like it sent to a different address please let me know.
@Jon: if you could resend to acallanderATmeDOTcom
How many days does it take for you to send a license key after a member has reached the required amount accepted needed? I'm pretty sure I have hit the requirements for the number of needed and accepted wallpapers.
I had some questions about my wallpapers, I have sent an email explaining everything. Has the mail been received?
Unfortunately, all my uploaded images (130) were rejected because of watermark size. When I've asked about watermarks nobody told me about it's size at all! May be better to describe all details for uploading images in the beginning of this page. How I can upload again the same photos with corrections made?
@Andrew: Sent to your new address!
@Zach: I see that a license was sent out, you should have it by the time you read this.
@Ronny: Email received and replied.
@Ali: My apologies, I'll update our submission page to outline the restrictions more clearly.
Thank you for the response! The images are approved but I did not receive a second license, is there a a possibility I could receive a second license?
Thank you for this promotion-action and all the effort!!!
dragonetti [d0t] rr [AD] gmail [d0t] com
How can I delete rejected submissions from my account?
@Ron: Your license was sent out yesterday, just check your spam folder.
@Ali: I've deleted the rejected images, you should be all set now. Thanks!
Great job, Jon! Thanks a lot.
How many time to get license key?
What a great promotion! I had been meaning to purchase display fusion for a while and just never had the extra class. Had no issues uploading wallpapers and receiving a license key. Thanks guys!
@SaTaNaX: You should have it by the time you read this.
@Brett: Thanks for your excellent submissions!
Just wondering how long you think it will take to get a license?
@Robert: It looks like you're 1 image short, your Mars submission was a duplicate.
Okay, i submitted two more!
Can you send me a license?
@Robert: Your license is on its way!
you wrote a license is on it´s way a couple of days ago, but still nothing received?
@Joe: My apologies, I've re-sent your license. Let me know if it fails to show up again and we can try an alternate address.
I received the license. All things are fine. Thank you for this great promotion.
Hello, how many points must a have to got a licence?
@Jan: You can see the number of images required in the post above. It works out to be roughly 600 rep points.
Is it possible to change submissions counter at member's page? It would be better if it represent total number of submissions, not last 30!
@Zucerro: Good idea, we'll look into this.
@Jon Tackabury: I see from your previous comments that you need roughly 600 rep points. I currently have four quad-monitor, one tri-monitor, and one dual-monitor submissions for a total of 550 points. I know I haven't met the exact 6 quad-monitor images that are required, but am I close enough to receive a free license, or should I go shoot one or two more panoramic? Thanks
We have just simplified the promotion qualifications, give our update a quick read:
Basically, you just need 600+ rep and 5+ published images to qualify. No more hidden, complicated contest points.
The search option at home and images pages works incorrectly (bug?). When you make search by member's name you get all the author's submissions, but when you reach the end of the results page the search starts automatically again and adds the same submissions to the previous results! And this action lasts again and again without stopping. Is it possible to make appropriate corrections for this option? Thank you in advance.
@zucerro: Thanks for letting us know! We'll see if we can get that fixed up
@zucerro: This has been fixed now, thanks for letting us know.
Thank you guys! Well done.
hrm, I like the competition - but the aspect ratio thing is creating issues. I submit photos that are 1872×3328 (or vice versa - that's simply what the camera takes) - but it wont' allow a vertical photo and marks the horizontal versions as "single monitor"?
Boo, good sir Please fix!
Hey all! I'm sure you guys are very busy, but I've made submissions and haven't heard anything back on any of them. It's getting close to the end of the event, and I just want to know if anything I submitted will be accepted. If not, I need to get busy and submit more.
I have submitted 28 images, but they're all pending approval.
Myself I sent in 30photos 3000x1464 which by your specifikations above would fit to the dual monitor category...Still your page displays them as single monitor options (1 monitor)...
All of them are still pending approval... Will I have to modify my contribution?
It Would also be nice if you could give some reassurance that you have the time to go through our contributions as well before the last day
@Matt: A picture that is 3328x1872 is really only a single monitor image. It would have to be at least double 1920 wide to be considered for that, and would have to have an aspect ratio that is double-wide as well.
@Theophilus: We're working as fast as we can at getting through the mountain of submissions.
@Martin: Don't worry about when the images are published, you'll still qualify for the license if they get accepted even after the deadline.
Thats good to know thanks for answering...
I would still want to know if the problem regarding the images being registered as (1 monitor) will be solved?...The current setting I use when I send in pictures are 3000(wide) x 1464 (high)...my aim is dual monitor images
You mention in the beginning that it "should be at least 2560x1024..." for those and my images go beyond that...
Should I change my setting so that your site can read the images better?
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your efforts.
It looks like someone went through and voted one star on most of the newest images this evening. I went through and upvoted those that I could because I didn't think they all deserved 1 star like that.
Also, I had nine images rejected, and 14 accepted, but I had 28 images pending previously. A few images have simply disappeared without feedback. Could someone look into this when they have time please? Thank you.
I've also submitted 2 more in hopes of meeting the qualifications to receive the free license.
@Theophilus: We'll look into the voting issue, thanks. Sometimes duplicate (or similar) images are deleted to save space. When this happens, you should receive an email saying that your submission was deleted. Also, you have have received your free license by the time you read this.
I don't see a lot of communication between images and feedback, as Theo says. I had half my photos rejected and submitted about 15 - many just rejected because of the resolution? I'm kinda contemplating if this free license is worth this much effort when these are photos that I literally have sold to other people. I'm happy to throw in some wallpapers to make things interesting and share my life's experiences but sheesh.
Also zero emails about deleted submissions. I think I'll be skipping wallpaperfusion and deleting my account, this is enough of an annoyance for me.
@Matt: You should be received emails when an image is deleted, but this only occurs when an image is a duplicate. If an image is rejected, it will appear on your profile page under the "Rejected" tab (only visible to you). We received way more image submissions then we expected, and we're working as fast as we can to process them all, but it takes time. If you would still like to close your account I will understand, just let me know. Thanks.
Dear friends, please make another changes in member's pages. It would be of great help for us if you can send to submitter's page a notification about comments added by members with indication of picture's page so the author can answer (if there is a question) or take into account proposals or remarks in time. It is impossible to view every time all submissions indeed! Moreover, if you can modify thumbnails of submitted pictures by adding comments counter then it would be excellent (now there are only downloads counter, number of monitors and rating stars). I do understand that you have a lot of jobs to do but be sure that your work is very highly appreciated.
Yes, I do want my account closed. This is way beyond too much effort and why is there no option to close my account by my own decision, without you having to do it administratively? That's not even remotely ok.
@Matt: Your account has been closed, I'm sorry to see you go.
@Zucerro: We will definitely add the comment counter to the image thumbnails, this is an excellent idea! As for the notifications, we'll have to figure out the best way to handle this so that image submitters don't get constantly spammed with notifications. We'll follow-up when we've got something figured out.
Ok, Jon. Thank you. But without notification the author must every time browse all his pictures to find comments leaved by members! May be you can find another way - it will be nice also. Good luck!
what are the largest dimensions that you will accept?
@Zucerro: The comment count is just the first step towards comment notification, don't worry.
@Hayden: We currently have some massive images (over 18,000 pixels wide). How large is the image you are interested in submitting?
Hello. Just so you know, you recently rejected one of my images (Rolling Cliffs of Capri) for copyright, but that's entirely impossible. I took it with my camera myself, and as it happens the image you linked to it appears to be stolen from me!
Not a big deal, I can repost others. But still, disappointed to see that.
Correction to my above post. The image linked is clearly different - the sky is different, and houses are not visible in the distance, as they are in mine. Perhaps it was the same location... but I certainly did not steal it.
Jon - Site is just getting better & better! Love the new features. Great work! Cheers!
Guys - I'd like to propose a few challenges:
1. San Antonio TX River Walk 2. Fountains of Rome 3. Trolleys of San Francisco
My 3 favored places on earth.
Got any? Please upload them!
Best ones win. Winners might get a give-away I have if it's OK with Jon.
Hope after October 1 you will be able to consider pictures for publishing much more quickly - not only one picture in 7-8 days per submitter! Regards
@Zucerro: We have 4 people working on images approvals now, we're getting through them as fast as we can.
@Zucerro: I have 294 pending images! I agree! Have 25 more ready for tomorrow Feels like a waste of time way too often!
You are great , DLJunkie! It seems the WallpaperFusion team works for you only! Wonderful indeed!
Jon Tackabury - Thank you for your site improving! But...At pending (as well as at rejected) page must be option for deleting submissions. For example, if I uploaded pictures by mistake or I'd like to correct my own comment then I must have a possibility to do these during pending procedure at least! And one request - please clean my rejected pages: they are annoying me! Thank you.
They work for me – Ha – I work hard for them! You should see my reject pile - close to 300!
@Jon Tackabury - I've just noted that my work 'Murhy's Law' has been rejected by you because of copyright. You are absolutely wrong because - first I mentioned in my comment that it is an adaptation of mentioned author. Second it is absolutely free (link provided by you leads to another page where this work is absent ), see link http://store.iqmatrix.com/?s=murphy&post_type=product. If you can't see the difference then it is not my problem at all. Third, do you really think that publishing photos of celebrities (even adfopted) at your site is not a violation of copyright law? If not, then why my work has been rejected? Forth, I am astonished very much if you really think that it is better to have celebrities at one's monitor than something educational. Do you really think that using a part(s) of any published picture is breaching copyright rules? According to above mentioned I've decided to suspend uploading my (yes, MINE) pictures to your site and to look for another, just more fair. Hope on your understanding.
@Zucerro: We will be implementing a way to delete submissions soon, stay tuned. For your Murphy's Law image it looks like we made a mistake. I've re-submitted it into the queue for processing. It should be up by tomorrow. Like I mentioned before, we're getting hundreds of submissions per day, and we're doing our best to keep up. We're only human though, sometimes we make mistakes.
@ Jon I know we need 600 points, but I am currently at 574 points and have one image that has been downloaded almost 300 times. I know I am close, but I wanted to know if I would be close enough for a free license. I will update more pictures at a later date, but I don't have any good high quality pano's right now to upload. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer
@JPitarresi: I've emailed you about this.
J Pitarresi - I just pumped you up yo 595 - So close!
Alpine Arts seems to be rating his own submissions - That's OK. or did I spot a glitch or 2?
Some of my images seem to now be his too - Weird! Not caring just say'n.
@DLJunkie: You can rate your own submissions if you'd like, but you won't gain any rep from it. None of your images should be transferred to him, can you let me know which ones?
@Zucerro: If you look at your member page now, you can delete your pending or rejected images. Please note that this is a permanent deletion, we can't get the image back after this, you'd have to re-submit it. Enjoy!
I called it "Barking Up The Wrong Tree" Description was "This tree barks back"
Was deleted as a dup. & is not in my reject pile - Happened in the evening. I got an email but I flushed it. It isn't important at all to me. Just think it's weird. So is rating ones own posts!
Something wrong with your points counter - yesterday after publishing my next one image it showed 2,333 point and now it shows 2,315. During this time I just uploaded 2 more images. Why during a day it subtracts points? Is it correct?
Your delete rejected images option still doesn't work (delete failed). Thank you.
@DLJunkie: We've removed the ability to rate your own posts now. For that image, the other member had already submitted it so yours was rejected as a dupe.
@Zucerro: We removed the ability to rate your own images today, it's possible there was a bug in the system that gave you rep accidently from your own ratings. If someone else removes their rating on your image or rates it lower it will affect your rep as well. We are looking into the image delete error and I'll follow-up soon.
@Zucerro: Image deleting is now working, sorry for the delay.
I never rated my own images! I'm not a point hunter at all. And it is not interesting for me to collect points. I just want to share my images among the community. Simply I mentioned this decrease and should like to know the reason. That's all.
Your delete option is working now. Thanks. But...It is not good idea to delete images one by one. I don't think that everybody has a patience for this. Ok for me because I have about hundred images for deleting. And what about member like DLJunkie who has more than 300 rejected images? It would be better to make deletions by marking them and then to add options 'Delete All' and 'Delete Marked'.
Returning to points - by my mind it would be very useful if you explain about points at the heading of this page or better way to make separate page named 'WallpaperFusion Rules for submitting images' where you can explain how much points a member can gain for uploading each kind of images, for comments, for rating etc. and of course how much points one can be charged for lower rating and so on. Hope on your understanding because this indicates our reputation!
How does one go about rating other contributors’ submissions?
I have ticked the stars, but t it doesn’t seem to take.
Also, I don’t seem to be able to go past the ‘first page’ when viewing submissions.
Is there a FAQ or something similar where one can learn how to better navigate and participate?
@Zucerro: The point decrease is most likely caused by someone changing or removing their vote on one or more of your images. If you'd like to batch delete a bunch of images, just let us know and we can delete all, or all older than a certain date for you.
You can see a full description of the points system by visiting the members page:
@oatko Rick: You can rate anyone else's submissions by clicking the second set of stars when viewing the image, for example here:
Just click the stars beside the "click a star to rate image" text on the right-hand side of the page.
For the submissions, which submissions are you viewing? Are they the main page images? If you'd like to see more images, just click the "Images" menu link at the top and you can see thousands of images.
If you're still having issues, please feel free to contact us and we can help you out more:
Jon Tackabury says: If you'd like to batch delete a bunch of images, just let us know and we can delete all, or all older than a certain date for you.
Oh! really great solution! Thank you so much for your hard work!
Got a request. If it's not too much trouble & in your spare time . Could you make the back-page function remember where on the page you where? BTW your website skills are bonkers good! Everything works great!
@DLJunkie: It should be working like that now, where have you run into this issue?
Click on one like http://www.wallpaperfusion.com/Image/nyc-skyline-at-night/407/
The click back - at top of page, not where left off.
Get what I mean?
@DLJunkie: Ahhh, I see what you mean. The search criteria doesn't get saved in the URL, so going back to a search will reset it. I'll see what we can do to fix this up.
Good luck! One of the thing I like about eBay when I am looking at 200 items a page eBay Junkie here too Yep I am OCD! huh?
Weeha you did it! It's working!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your the best!
Please remove all single monitor wall papers of mine - thanks
Don't like the compositions the way they are now.
Removed a lot of ratings tonight too - Darn lost a ton of 1 pointers!
Will get the rest of them asap. Keep those complains coming!
You are great , DLJunkie! It seems the WallpaperFusion team works for you only! Wonderful indeed!
I removed the 5 star ratings I gave you. You have a PHD see if you can guess why.
@DLJunkie: I have removed your 1 monitor submissions as requested.
Zucerro/DLJunkie: No personal attacks on each other please, let's keep this friendly.
Reputation points are a measure of how involved you are in the WallpaperFusion commmunity. The more you use the site, the higher your reputation will grow!
